On January 4, 2014 at 4:06 PM, Aspen Lee Foote Mikels joined us finally after over 41 weeks in the womb. He came in weighing 8 lbs 2.2 oz and measured 20 3/4 inches long. A very healthy baby boy and we are so thankful and fortunate that everything went well.
Aspen's First Breaths
Labor was a little hard on Mama. Luckily, she took the epidural as soon as available and she did not have too much pain along the way. She had to have an episiotomy, which the doctor rated stage 3 (there are only 4 stages), so she has been waddling around and pretty sore. She is tough though and taking it like a champ. Lots of baths are helping keep her relaxed. Below are a few pics of Aspen, Mama and our great family. What an amazing day and experience.
Britt all juiced up on epidural
Fresh Baby! They had to delay his breathing due to Meconium in his lungs. They didn't tell me this, so I was quite frightened after he didn't start breathing and crying right away.
Where the heck am I?
This place sucks! I want back in my Mom's belly.
That guy is my Dad! I thought he would be much better looking!
