Aspen’s first doctor’s visit was scheduled for 20Jan, his 16th day of birth, which also happened to be MLK, so Ted had the day off. We made our pit stop at Culver’s for lunch prior to the visit, as we have quickly become accustomed to during my pregnancy.
Ready for the doc!
When we arrived at the doctor, I quickly filled out paperwork while Ted fed Aspen. Since he had been having difficulty passing stools, we thought we were in trouble when he started passing some heavy gas and grunting in the face. When our name was called, I asked the nurse if she had any extra wipes as I knew if we had a number two, I wouldn’t have enough to get us through the tragedy. Lucky for us, it was only gas. The nurse took his measurements and he came out a world class champion:
Weight: 9.48 pounds, 75th%
Head circumference: 14.8 inches, 89th%
Length: 22.25 inches, 99th%
Ted and I couldn’t help but smile from ear to ear hearing his stats. While those our bound to change, at least one time in his little life, he is taller than 99% of the kids his age! We believe we have a future Iowa State Cyclone basketball player on our hands!
The rest of his appointment went well with Dr. Sims and he won’t be seen again until March 5th (my Birthday), for his two month check-up and shotsL I may have to reschedule just so I don’t get all sappy and sad when they give him his three shots. Poor little buddy.
