Week 7-Why does Mama love taking soooo many pictures?

Feb15-Day43
I survived my first Valentine's Day with Ma and Da yesterday.  They cooked some Omaha steaks and Da made homemade apple crisp.  I wrote a nice card for Da and gave him an outfit I can wear when I am two which says Daddy's sidekick.  I gave Ma a frame pic of my feet with my name on it.  Aren't I clever?  Da ended up taking care of me all night while Ma rested up.  She came in to find us zonked out. I'm not sure why Da thinks taking care of me during the night is such hard work.  Apparently Ma needs to show him how to handle it like a champ!

Clones win!  Hoorah!

Another chill morning in the shower.  I totally figured out where my man parts are!

Feb16-Day44
Multi tasking and lovin it.

I don't think Da knows my head shouldn't be hanging like that.

Unwinding and loosening up the tie.  All in a days work.

Feb17-Day45
I'm not sure what to think of all these bright colors.

Tired tummy time on the bed.

38 days old!

It's hard to believe you are already over a month old. The days continue to fly by.  I look forward to the days that you will talk and let me know about your day. But I also wish time would slow down and you would stay little.  I am so glad you are in my life little man.  You are amazing and I am lucky to be your Dad!  I love you buddy!

Summing up Aspen's First Month

I knew being an Aunt to seven beautiful nieces and nephews was something special.  But, I never understood until a month ago today, how special being a mother truly is.  It isn't something you can put into words until you have one of your own.  It's like Jaime Robertson said, it's like telling someone how beautiful the Grand Canyon is, but until you see and experience it for yourself, you never understand.  In this month of firsts, I am thankful for many things: a healthy baby, a baby who loves to gaze all around (especially at my black and white silhouette photo and our black shelves with Willow Trees), a baby who is strong physically, but I can imagine only mentally as well, a baby who has his nights figured out and enjoys sleeping through some of them, a baby who knows what he wants and when he wants it, a baby who melts his mom and dad's heart, and a baby who loves  his family and it is reciprocated back tenfold.  Thankfully, I have 222 more months before he leaves the house for college.  Until then, I stand in awe of everything I have learned in a few short days.

Week 6-Meeting Great Grandpa Vernon West and Great Guncle Gary & Cindy

Feb9-Day. 38

Guncle Gary gave me a Benjamin.  I was less then enthused.  Hoping he does this every meeting!

He's so boring he put me to sleep.  Kidding!

I love Great Grandpa!

Dad is singing to me.  I would really like ear plugs but no one will bring me any!

Feb10-Day 39
Grammie says I look like a frog.  I think she may be right.

Feb12-Day 41
Love my family.  I may have been pretend sleeping so I could take this pic.

Feb13-Day42
Call me Elvis.

I'm starting to enjoy this smiling thing.

Week 5-1 month Birthday!

Feb1-Day 29
Da took care of me all night.  It was a tough one for him.  He managed to lose my pants, a sock, and a glove!  It's not THAT hard Da!

Feb2-Day 30
My favorite spot in the whole wide world is on Ma's chest!  It gets me every time.

Da was a happy man when Iowa State beat OK State in triple OT.  He made sure I was a part of the victory too!
Clones win Clones win!

Ma is sad I am growing up too fast.

Feb4-Day 32-Happy Birthday to me!
Birthday face
Ma!  You just photobombed my pic!

Lunch date at Subway.  Ma even invited me.

Feb5-Day 33
I'm happy.  Ma just told me I get to wear Cyclone clothes today!

Ma cried last night because I outgrew my first newborn outfit.  I told her there is a solution.... Have another baby soon so she can dress him in it and I can have someone to play with.

Ma was true to her word.

Feb6-Day 35
He loves me...but then again, who wouldn't?

I've got to keep practicing this smiling thing so I can pick up the ladies.

He almost kissed my mouth.  Thankfully Ma stepped in.

Ma didn't tell me that when one pulls his own hair it hurts! Ouch!

Grandpa and Brennan visited.  Brennan kept telling me I was cute.

Talking basketball.

Week 4...It goes so fast

Jan25-Day 22
I don't know why Ma takes soooo many pics of me and my hair.  It's only hair you know?

Jan26-Day 23
Da styled his hair just like mine..it's no longer like father like son, it's like son like father.
This bath thing is only fun when I am warm.

I kinda like my feet...

Da asked if I could help him with work.  I told him," I got this!"

Jan27-Day 24
Who can smile?  This guy!

Jan29-Day 26
I challenged Mav to a staring contest.  I farted, which caused him to sneeze and blink.   Winner!

Jan30-Day 27
Why do I look like a penguin?  "I can't move my arms!"

I don't want to hear it anymore!  I am a grown man, Ma, and you don't need to be bossing me around!

Big foot?  Well, not yet, but give me a few years.

I'm ready to get outta this house!

Week 3...I'm growing up before their eyes

Jan18-Day 15
Daddy and I are starting our Saturday morning tradition.  Cartoons...Mom is supposed to be cooking us pancakes while we relax...I cut the deal.

Jan21-Day 18
Ma and Da are in love..how couldn't they be?

Jan22-Day 19
Just hanging out in my morning spot..Ma and Da's room.

Mav and I are pretty good buddies already.  I know we will be even closer when I eat real food;)

Jan24-Day 21
Ma's basketball team had a real big game against number 6, Dike.  I cheered on from home.  They easily avenged an earlier season loss in route to a 53-42 victory! Hooray Mama!
