131000 to 128000! Booyah! I gave Britt a minor shalackin'. She wants to go again. I bet I beat her by more this time.
This is why I think it would be cool to be an engineer at Disney World. They do some amazing things with robotics. Now if I can only get a job at Disney and talk Britt into moving down here.

It's our final night here. We went to the hotel this afternoon with plans to take a quick nap and return in time for the American Idol finale. Well Britt set the alarm for an hour that had already passed. We woke up at 6:25 and rushed our rear ends in time to make it back to Hollywood Studios to get into the show. I'd say the performances tonight were not nearly as solid all around as last nights. It wasn't until the final performance that I was actually impressed. More importantly though....it almost happened again. What you may ask? THE PUKING KIDS AIMMING FOR BRITT AND TED! Over halfway through I hear Ted yell at me ,"Watch out! A kid is puking." Sure enough right behind us a mom is attempting to carrry her son through her row and I turn back just in time to see him yack right behind us proceeded by her covering his mouth with her hand. Thank goodness he decided to keep
it in his row this time. I understand if a kid gets sick on a ride, but during a show?
In line yet again for rockin coaster...they have a handful of lava lamps in one of their staging areas causing me to recall the days when lava lamps were.cool! Mine was teal of course.

Any and all evidence of mickey cookie sandwich is gone. my teeth are clean. time for rock n roller coaster....yet again...

Add to the list of junk food we have eaten..ice cream sandwich number two
Whoever was the man or woman behind taking pictures of people on rides and selling them for a small fortune was a genius. I can't imagine how much money Disney makes off this! I was also thinking I wonder just how many mantels of families we do not know will have a roller coaster picture of us?
Ted's video didn't sound too great so justpicture Ted crying like a baby to understand what you would've heard. I had to wipe the tears from hs eyes he was so scared. Only kidding. Anyways, we made it through the coaster twice and are now standing in line for Tower of Terror again.

Theo is ready for the first ride of the morning..Rock N Roller coaster...today he will attempt again to video tape with his phone after his failed attempt yesterday as one of the workers caught him....opps!

Hollywood Studios is by far my favorite park of them all! Mix in two awesome rides with American Idol and the stunt show Lights Camera Action (which I'm praying tomorrow a seven year old decides not to puke all over me this time) and how can you NOT say it isn't the best theme park?
I loved loved LOVED the American Idol experience. Basically what happens there are seven shows during the day in which three contestants compete like the normal American Idol with three guest judges meant to replicate the actual judges. The studio audience picks their favorite singer to go on and compete at the finale show for the day at seve. Mikaeli, a 17 year old sweetheart from Argentina, won from our show at three. I loved it so much I convinced Ted we had to go watch the finale. A great mix of singers performed hit sogs by Queen and others and again Mikaeli won! She was without words as the streamers poured from the ceiling. The neat thing about the show is that the winnner from the finale gets a golden ticket which alllows them to cut to the front of the line at the real American Idol auditions. I plan to come back again tomorrow! Besides that we did ride on Tower of
Terror twice and are waiting in line for Rock N Roller coaster!

Video from Tower of Terror. There was only a 10 minute wait for the ride. Listen to Britt scream like a little baby. There were two little 6 year old twins on the ride and they wanted to go on again and weren't nearly as scared as Britt.

Just got done at the American Idol Experience. Really cool stage that they have set up for the show. All three contestants were really good. A 17 year old from Argentina won it and will be going to the final tonight. We enjoyed it so much we are going to go again tonight to watch the finale of all of today's winners.
Yeah I destroyed Britt on the Buzz lightyear game. She said she didn't try. Hahaha...whatever.
Barbershop quartet.

Well we were lucky to get on the ride when we did. They shut it down while we were in line...maybe we won't be using our fast passes afterall.

We found the castle! A beautiful sunny day for shorts! Waiting in line at Space Mountain...which is a roller coaster. This would happen to be my third favorite ride at Disney. We grabbed fast passes so once we get off we won't have to wait long to ride again.

Here I am with my good friend Goofy. Whoever the guy inside is really tall. Also, Goofy was dissin' my Cyclone jacket, so he now moves down to the bottom of my list of favorite Disney characters.
Midway through the day and Theo and I are ready for a snooze...but not until we are able to utilize our fast passes for Test Track. Even with fast passes we are still going to have to wait in line twenty five minutes! Ted and I did not grab fish n chips for lunch today, rather when we return this evening we will devour! Today has been an absolutely gorgeous day! Sun is shinning...it feels like summer which we haven't experinced for months. Now we can only hope we will come back to some warm Iowa weather. Oh wait. Snow will be waiting for us at home....

While we are waiting to ride the test track, thought I would post some pics. Here is Britt with Minne Mouse. Aren't they so cute together?

Good morning from Epcot! We are relaxing by the water as I watch Ted eat one of the three cookies he pocketed yesterday at dinner. Today is already in works of being nicer than the last two days and we are so excited for 70 degree weather. This morning we had pictures taken with Mickey and crew....attached is Ted's favorite character. Todays activities include eating lots of food....I already have m eyes on pastries. churros. fish n chips.ice cream. I will close for now.

Odds and ends of my main dish...some fufu...falafa with mustard yogurt sauce...amoung other things.

Britt's desert for tonight - mac & cheese and a single chicken nugget. There just isn't something right about that girl.

Its dinner time at Boma's....an all you can eat African buffet at the Animal Kingdom Lodge....and eat we did! Here is a pic of Ted with his final plate...and yes....he has cookies piled three high even after eating one on his last plate! He told me he was going to put some in a napkin. And he did...saving some for later.

On the safari right now...black rhino
The Siamang monkies are not happy. Turn up the volume.

Ahhhh! The forest is alive!

Time for Mt.Everest!

We've arrived at the Animal Kingdom. Here is Britt in front of the tree of life. We are going to grab a fast pass to the safari, grab some breakfast, and then head over to ride Mount Everest. I'll post back with Britt's screams of fear as we confront the Yeti at Everest.

Thursday, February 18, 2010

Well we have had enough fun and are going to pack it up early tonight, so we can get up bright and early for a run and to get to the Animal Kingdom when it opens.
We do want to wish a happy 35th birthday today to Brent! Man, your getting old! Thanks for the pic, Sarah.
Also, the big news of the day is we have a new nephew. Congratulations to Brian and Jackie! We can't wait to see the little dude. See you all tomorrow!

We didn't make it in for the last show of American Idol at Hollywood Studios but we can watch live outside. It is the grand finale for the night, so it is all the winners of the day. The people are GOOD. Surprised we haven't seen any on Idol. Off to get some tasty snacks before we call it night.

Just walked in to the first park...hollywood studios! Going to try and see if we can get into the American Idol experience...If not it's off to check out the coasters!

Britt is sad she didnt get to ride the balloon @ downtown disney. It is too windy today so it is shut down. It goes 400 feet in the air and costs $16/person. I guess we'll just have to ride tower of terror and rockin' roller coaster a few more times tonight. Shucks!

Our first meal at downtown disney...fabulous! grabbed some disney gummies and jelly bellies and we have a full belly! headin back to the hotel to grab an extra layer of clothing as it is coolin down and then we are off to hollywood studios to ride tower of terror and rock n roller coaster......yaaaaahhhhhh

We've made it! There is no snow and it is above 60 degrees. We're off to Port Orleans to our room and then off to downtown disney to see if Earl
of Sandwich is as good as we hear. We'll let you all know. Later.

We are on the plane and getting ready to zoom down to Atlanta to hop on another plane to sunny Orlando. The yellowish complexion on Britt's face and teeth is not from my poor phone camera. It is from the poor hotel conditions we slept thru last night. Let's hope the sunny weather cures her. See you in Atlanta.

You know youve stayed at a cheap motel when there isn't even a hair dryer in the room=) At the airport waiting to board.

Wednesday, February 17, 2010

Well, here we are at our glorious hotel that we are staying at before we depart for Orlando. You would think that two well paid engineers would spend a little more just to ensure we don't acquire some sort of rare disease, but not Britt and I. I estimate the room is at a toasty 50 degrees and smells like moth balls. Oh well, I guess that will give more money to fund Britt's weakness at Disney World, Gummy Mickies! See you all tomorrow as we travel to the land of happiness.
Wednesday night and as i write this we are driving to Moline. I am actually posting this blog from my phone. Technology is simply amazing, isnt it? We successfully dropped off Mav at the kennel and the guy who waited on us says to me,"I see he hasn't calmed down any." We then dropped Buddy off at Ted's parents and made a quick stop at my parents to see Mom, Dad, Grandma, and Grandpa. We managed to pack our clothes into one carryon and then we have another small bag for some "stuff" to bring home. As we drive I think I've already got my first headache.....how you may ask? Ted'S off key singing! Good thing he won't be trying out for the American Idol experience at Disney! I shall close for now...

Mav is sad we are leaving him behind, but don't worry-he'll forget about us soon when he is busy playing with other dogs!

Our quest for happiness

It's Tuesday evening-the Eve of our departure. Ted has just broke open our Valentine's gift--Mario Kart for the Wii. He's been anxiously waiting to find the game since Christmas. Now that it's finally arrived it's game time. I hope he's prepared to lose-because if you know me-I will not lose...especially when it involves any game against Ted...

And the winner is.....all you need is to take one look at Ted's face.

PEACH...AKA...BRITT WINS!!!!!!!!!!

A pic of Alyssa and Brennan with Uncle Ted this past weekend.
